This section is for all my custom sewing and alteration work.
I get great pleasure and satisfaction from taking unwanted clothing and making it lovable again.
I've got a deal with a guy called Nick who runs the Vintage shop on Division St in Sheffield city.
It has no name on the outside of the shop, but the bags say "It's not Vintage, Stupid. It's Second Hand!!"
So I call it the stupid vintage shop (^0^) hehehe.
Anyway the deal is, I get the larger sizes of dresses that no-one is buying and do whatever I can think of to them to make them sellable again, sometimes I just shorten the hem or take the sleeves off, but most times I like to get more creative with it.
I love the unique array of textures, colours and patterns I get to play with.
Old clothes are so much fun, especially second hand ones that have a history.
I like to imagine the kind of person that would have originally bought and worn that dress, then think what I could do to it and who would like to wear it now.
I will post up before and after pictures so you can see what I've been doing.
I'll also put personal commissioned alterations up here too.
